PARENTS' ROLES

PARENTS AND TEACHING PROFESSIONALS OUGHT TO WORK TOWARD THE GOAL OF DEVELOPING A PARTNERSHIP IN WHICH THE EFFORTS CONTRIBUTE TO THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CHILD.

 

Presently, it has become necessary for parents to participate in school matters in a way that enables them to make a positive and active contribution, in the interests of the child in particular and the school in general, thereby improving the school's effectiveness. Our school is exposed to constant competition from other prestigious schools in Gqeberha.

PARENT AND LEARNER PARTICIPATION IS KEY IN DEVELOPING A PRESTIGIOUS SCHOOL

Parents need to:​

  • Support  all school objectives;

  • Show loyalty to the school and school policies;

  • Create academic awareness at home;

  • Encourage  learners to participate fully in the school’s extra-mural programme;

  • Supervise homework;

  • Commit to pay all fees levied by the school;

  • Set accepted levels of discipline and self-discipline at home and

  • Develop a sense of pride within their children.

COMUNICATION

At Herbert Hurd Primary School, we believe that strong communication between the school and parents is vital for the development and success of our learners. We encourage an open dialogue to ensure that every child's needs are met, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. Together, we can create a positive impact on our learners'  educational journeys. Thank you for being an essential part of our school community.
