PARENTS AND TEACHING PROFESSIONALS OUGHT TO WORK TOWARD THE GOAL OF DEVELOPING A PARTNERSHIP IN WHICH THE EFFORTS CONTRIBUTE TO THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CHILD.

 

Presently, it has become necessary for parents to participate in school matters in a way that enables them to make a positive and active contribution, in the interests of the child in particular and the school in general, thereby improving the school's effectiveness. 

 

Our school is exposed to constant competition from other prestigious schools in Gqeberha. Parents should support the school in ensuring that Herbert Hurd Primary School can take pride in its efforts to be one of the best primary schools in the city. 

PARENTAL SUPPORT

Parental support plays a crucial role in fostering excellence in children. It provides them with the encouragement and guidance they need to pursue their passions and achieve their goals. When parents actively participate in their child's journey, it helps build and resilience. Ultimately, a strong support system can be the foundation for a child's success.

AN ACTIVE ROLE

Parents need to:​

  • Support  all school objectives;

  • Show loyalty to the school and school policies;

  • Create academic awareness at home;

  • Encourage  learners to participate fully in the school’s extra-mural programme;

  • Supervise homework;

  • Commit to pay all fees levied by the school;

  • Set accepted levels of discipline and self-discipline at home and

  • Develop a sense of pride within their children.
