FOUNDATION PHASE

INTERMEDIATE PHASE
Herbert Hurt offers an exceptional learning experience in a caring, nurturing environment for Intermediate Phase learners. Professional teachers focus on highlighting individual strengths, while developing essential social and academic skills. A wide variety of academic extension and support, sports and cultural activities go beyond the curriculum to deliver a holistic education. SENIOR PHASE
Herbert Hurd acknowledges that Grade 7 is the first year of the Senior Phase. Therefore, we ensure that learners are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure continuity in Grades 8 and 9, as the the subjects offered are identical. Learners are taught to implement sound study techniques from the onset. Individual progress in all subjects are followed closely. Parents are contacted when informal assessment tasks are not completed or learners find formal assessment tasks challenging. High standards are maintained to ensure that each learner will adapt easily in high school in 2025. Our learners cope with ease in the high schools they select to continue their school careers. Numerous learners excel in high school in academics,, sport and culture. Various learners experience the honour of serving in the learner representative council in Grades 8 to 12.
